Message from the MWIA President

Dear Distinguished Delegates, Colleagues and Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA – Western Pacific Regional Conference 2024 and 73rd Philippine Medical Women’s Association (PMWA) Annual Convention

Founded in 1919, the Medical Women’s International Association has directed its efforts and resources to proactively empower women in medicine and to improving the health and wellbeing of women and girls and their communities around the world.

The triennial theme, One Humanity: Health Solutions Through Our Partnerships is a global strategy highlighting the need for an approach that is inclusive, holistic, and collaborative .

The sub theme, “Empowering Women in Medical Education & Leadership” is an opportunity to discuss in detail solutions towards repositioning women in medicine for transformative impact.

I wish to extend my profound appreciation to Dr Bong Ok Kim MWIA WPR Vice President, Dr Vivina C. Chiu, PMWA President and colleagues of PMWA for working tirelessly to ensure that we have a memorable and rewarding Western Pacific Regional Conference

Message from the MWIA Vice President

Dear Esteemed Members of MWIA and Distinguished Guests,

I am excited to welcome you at the MWIA Western Pacific Regional Conference 2024 which will be held in Cebu, Philippines from July 11 to 13, 2024 in conjunction with the 73rd Annual Convention of Philippine Medical Women’s Association.

The MWIA triennial (2022~2025) theme is “One Humanity: Health Solutions Through Our Partnership” and the sub-theme for this conference is “Empowering Women in Medical Education and Leadership.”

This conference will bring you wonderful opportunities to explore innovative ideas, share experiences, and foster meaningful connections to accomplish these themes.

MWIA holds International Congress every three years and eight regions of MWIA hold their regional conferences between the Internations Congresses. In the Western Pacific Regional Conference 2024 in Cebu, we will see each other in person to renew old friendships and make new friends.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Members of the Organizing Committee in PMWA led by Dr. Vivina C. Chiu, Dr. Ma. Victoria M. Vilarica and Dr. Rosa Maria H. Nancho for their dedicated hard work to make this conference a successful one in both scientific and social programs.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Western Pacific Regional Conference of MWIA in Cebu City, The Queen City of the South.

Along with the MWIA President Eleanor Nwadinobi, The Secretary-General Mariam Jashi and the Vice-President of Western Pacific Region Bong Ok Kim.

The Chair of the scientific committee Dr. Rosa Nancho, and its members have prepared a well-balanced topics and poster presentation award will be given to the Best Paper Presentation.

I look forward to seeing you in Cebu City on July 11-13, 2024 and the meeting will take place in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
